In a nutshell, an MBA program is designed to prepare students for an upper management or entrepreneurial role in the business world, whether it be a large multinational company or a small family business. Programs will cover both general business and management skills as well as niche business topics, depending on the specialization (if any) of the program) Some may even include internship programs where students can gain experience at a real company.

In order to get accepted into an MBA program, candidates will typically need an undergraduate degree with good scores, 1+ years of professional business experience, GMAT/GRE scores and possible letters of recommendation and a personal statement of purpose. The specific entry criteria will vary between programs.
