Should I get a European or American MBA? - Forum

I have family in Germany and when I visit them I really like the lifestyle and business style. If I want to get a job there should I study in Germany or would an American MBA be just as valuable. I already speak the language so I'm not worried about that. I just wonder if an American MBA has any special value or if I should just try to move right away. What doyou think?

Well the U.S. invented the MBA - I believe it was Harvard. I think an American MBA is generally the best way to go. On the other hand, if you want to work in Germany they'll probably be impressed that you have lived and studied there and have a commitment to the country. Plus you can network with your classmates and hopefully get a job lined up.

A German MBA should set you back less cash - especially if you do it through a public university. Something to consider...
