Autonomous institutes cannot offer MBA degrees, instead they offer PG level management courses, called Post Graduate Diploma in Management. A valid PGDM provider has to be affiliated with the AICTE. Some of the top institutes and colleges in India provide a PGDM through distance learning and also part-time classes.

PGDM is offered by autonomous institutes and such institutes cannot offer a degree as they are not affiliated to any university. They are recognised by AICTE. ITM Institute offers pgdm program which include academics, self development, professional development and real work experiences.
