Program description

Wharton's MBA curriculum offers depth, breadth, and options. The curriculum emphasizes "general management plus" - a rigorous core in general management, plus the depth of 19 majors and breadth of nearly 200 electives.

Curriculum Structure
The intensive first-year core curriculum provides a foundation of general management skills, combined with an unmatched range of majors and electives in the second year.

Pre-Term
The required Pre-Term session helps all first-year students share a common knowledge base. It includes coursework, waiver testing, a Learning Team Retreat, and the chance to explore Philadelphia and build relationships with your classmates.

Core Curriculum
Wharton's core curriculum combines a foundation in essential management knowledge with courses in essential skills for senior-level management, such as leadership, ethics, and communication.

Majors
You can choose among Wharton's 19 comprehensive majors - including the option of selecting a double major or designing an individualized major that meets your particular career goals.

Electives
Each MBA student customizes an individual program from nearly 200 electives offered by faculty across 11 academic departments, the largest number of electives at any business school.

Dual and Joint Degrees

The International Seminar offers you an inside view not only of individual companies and industries, but also of the broader , social, cultural, economic and political factors that influence business opportunities and practice in a particular region.

    The required seminar marks the culmination of a semester-long examination into how business firms develop and implement strategy in a competitive international context. It follows the two-course core sequence, Competitive Strategy and Global Strategic Management.
