UFRJ - The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro
The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), formerly University of Brazil, as well as being one of the most respected, is the first and foremost university in the country. UFRJ was founded in 1920 when a number of already established and independent schools, such as the School of Medicine, the School of Law and the Polytechnic School combined. In 1945, in addition to administrative, disciplinary, and financial independence, the university was granted academic and scientific autonomy.
Since 2001, COPPEAD has been listed eight times in the global rankings of the top 100 full-time MBA programs published by the Financial Times. In 2010, it was again the only school in South America to be included in the list.
