Application and Admission Requirements
The RMIT Online Executive MBA is for working professionals, combining theory & application to increase opportunities for progression in your chosen field.
Typically profile of an RMIT Online Executive MBA student:
- Already in a managerial or professional role
- Looking for further career advancement

- Degree qualified with substantial, relevant work experience (typically at least five years post graduation) or

Online MBA degree flexibility
RMIT’s
postgraduate degrees focus on making further study more accessible. They
provide greater flexibility through a range of options for coursework students
at graduate certificate, graduate diploma and master level.
Through RMIT’s partnership with Open Universities Australia (OUA), you have the convenience and flexibility to study the RMIT MBA (Executive) program fully online or as a combination of both online and on-campus.
All eight MBA (Executive) core courses (subjects) are offered in the online mode as well as four International Management electives. You now have the opportunity to study anywhere, anytime while staying in contact with your class facilitator and class. You can also move comfortably between online and on-campus modes wherever the MBA (Executive) is offered - here in Melbourne and selected sites in Asia.
You’ll enjoy greater flexibility through RMIT’s structure for coursework degrees. It’s natural to be concerned that you may start a postgraduate degree and not complete it for unforeseen reasons. At RMIT, some postgraduate degrees are structured to give you optional exit points.
Teaching methods and assessment
Classes in the MBA (Executive) are designed to ensure that the learning aspect of the course is paramount. Classroom discussion draws strongly from your own experience, assignments focus on the practical application of new theory and skills and you are encouraged to become a reflective practitioner.
Our facilitated learning approach uses a variety of educational methods including weekly classes (typically one-and-a-half hours), seminars (typically three hours), weekend block classes and five-day intensive courses. Face-to-face interaction is augmented by online class activity and discussion.
Most assessment tasks require you to analyse your own practice and that of your organisation thus ensuring relevance. Depending on the courses selected, your progress will be assessed by a combination of group and individual assignments and examinations. While group assignments are an important component of every course, the focus of the assessment is weighted towards individual performance.
