Description of Manchester MBA

Our Full-time MBA programme runs for 18 months, starting each September, and its content is comparable to a two-year programme in the United States or Europe.

There are three key stages to the Full-time MBA, introductory module, diploma stage and MBA stage.

A summer internship also offers an extra opportunity to earn money, gain experience and earn credits towards the MBA - all at the same time.

Accredited by AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB International, our Full Time MBA programme is currently ranked 22 in the world by the Financial Times.

Application and Admission Requirements

  • an undergraduate degree
  • at least three years' postgraduate work experience
  • a GMAT score
  • English language proficiency
  • Programme Structure

The Full-time MBA is divided into two distinct stages: the Diploma and the MBA.

    Diploma stage - 13 courses (210 credits)
The aim of the Diploma stage is to equip you with the tools for analysing management problems. A number of core courses cover the basic disciplines of business and management. Each core course credit comprises 30 hours' class time. Teaching methods include lectures, case studies, tutorials and group project work.

    MBA stage - 8 courses (150 credits)
The aim of this stage is to allow you both to put into practice what you have learned during the Diploma stage and to deepen your knowledge in specialist subjects. This includes a menu of electives, projects and special programmes from which you accumulate further credits.

    International Exchange

The International Exchange Programme takes place during the Autumn term of the MBA stage and is one of the largest of its kind.

With over 50 partner schools across the globe you will benefit from the experience of a different business culture first hand, make contact with potential employers in your chosen country and take specialist elective courses to complement your Manchester MBA.
