Description of Manchester Global MBA for Sport and Major Events

In partnership with the World Academy of Sport, Manchester Business School Worldwide has developed the Manchester Global MBA in Sport and Major Events. This specialised stream of the MBA programme facilitates networking and sharing of ideas among thought leaders in the industry.

Sport and Major Event executives will be exposed to specifically developed case studies, developed by world-leading industry experts, exploring 'real life' scenarios from the Olympic and non-Olympic sport and major event sector.

The combination of case studies, applied project work and access to world-leading academics means the Global MBA Sport and Major Events is a powerful tool for career advancement.

Application and Admission Requirements

In order to be considered for this programme, you'll need:
  • a recognised degree
  • six years suitable managerial experience
  • two references

    Selection criteria will normally focus on work experience and academic and/or professional qualifications. Candidates may in some circumstances be required to take either GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) or MAT (Manchester Admissions Test), depending on individual circumstances.

    • Corporate Sponsorship

    Securing corporate sponsorship is a great way of funding your MBA studies. Around 30% of our students are either fully or partly funded by their employers.

    Collaborative Learning

    The Manchester Global MBA format mirrors todays corporate workplace with a mix of individual research, team work, online collaborative working, face-to-face meetings and virtual learning technologies giving a intense learning experience.

    The face-to-face residential workshops provide extensive networking opportunities with other experienced managers. Each module contains a three-day, intensive workshop at Manchester Business School.

    Parallel Career Development

    Executives enrolling onto the Manchester Global MBA can expect parallel career development. They will benefit from the same award certificate as the Full Time MBA students, in 24 months and without putting their career on hold. This short but intensive programme is aimed at managers that have accrued at least six years suitable managerial experience.

    Expenses / Tuition Fees

    Tuition fees for the Manchester Global MBA programme commencing September 2008 are £19,200. Tuition fees include study guides, course textbooks, required readings, and examinations at international executive centres and Manchester Business School Worldwide approved examination venues.
