Preparing Students for a Lifetime of Leadership
Admission to Harvard Business School is really an invitation. We ask you to engage the sum of your talents, your experience, and your dedication in an intensive, two-year program of transformation. Here, we encourage you to challenge your assumptions, acquire new skills, examine unfamiliar possibilities, imagine unexpected opportunities and, most of all, to assume responsibility for yourself and for our world.

In short, we invite you to turn your potential into a real capacity for leadership. At HBS, we stimulate your growth in a number of distinctive ways:

  • General management focus
  • The case method
  • A community experience
  • Global reach
  • The HBS network
  • An exceptional campus
  • Interdisciplinary approach
  • Admission Requirements

  • A degree program at an accredited U.S. four-year undergraduate college/university or its equivalent.
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) exam from a test taken January 1, 2003 or later. The GMAT is a prerequisite for admission.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) from a test taken January 1, 2006 or later, is required for international applicants who attended a non-English-speaking undergraduate university.
  • Submission of a complete online application for evaluation by one of the decision round deadlines.
  • Curriculum

The curriculum is split into two different yet complementary learning experiences:

The Required Curriculum (RC) forms the first year of study and establishes a common foundation in the fundamental practices of business including finance, marketing, leadership, negotiation, operations, strategy, and more. All students participate in the same set of classes within their section of 90 colleagues. In addition to acquiring specific analytical and quantitative skills, students become acclimated to MBA Program standards of communication and collaboration, and develop strong, lasting relationships among themselves.

The Elective Curriculum (EC) follows the RC's breadth of experience with an opportunity for depth, breadth, or both: students choose from among 96 courses in ten subject areas as well as field-based learning opportunities to gain a more concentrated expertise in the industries, functions, and ideas that interest them most. Additionally, cross registration enables students to take classes at other select graduate programs during their EC year.

    Field Based Learning

More than 50 percent of HBS students take learning out of the classroom and into the workplace in faculty-supervised field-based learning. These field study and Individual Student Research projects are designed to help students deepen their knowledge in a particular area of interest.

    Immersion Experiences

Reflecting its commitment to a far-reaching yet practical business education, HBS has expanded on the concept of its popular career treks to offer Immersion Experiences in the MBA Program. These opportunities immerse faculty, staff, and students in academic, cultural, and organizational- or corporate-based field work around the world where participants can meet with leaders and actively engage in hands-on projects.

During the 2006-07 academic year, more than 200 students participated in three Immersion Experiences:
  • China Immersion
  • New Orleans Service Immersion
  • Healthcare Immersion
  • Degree and diploma etc.

    Master of Business Administration (MBA)

    Program Cost

Tuition for 2007-2008 (9 Month Academic Year) is $41,900.

    Description of Boston and accommodation

    Boston

    Description
Boston and Cambridge are two of the most beautiful, historic cities in the country. A walk through the streets of these neighboring cities is a veritable sightseeing tour with all sorts of cultural attractions to enjoy. Boston is home to some of the country's most famous institutions, such as the Museum of Fine Arts, the Boston Symphony, and the Museum of Science.

A cosmopolitan and sophisticated city renowned for its vibrant nightlife, Boston is also a university town with great bars and inexpensive places to eat. With so much going on, the only challenge you'll have is deciding what you want to do.

    Accommodation Boston
More than 80 percent of students live on campus in dorms or affiliated housing through Harvard Real Estate Services. For students who enjoy the convenience of being steps away from any campus activity or resource, HBS offers several on-campus options.

More than one-third of the student body resides in four on-campus residence halls. These residence halls have one-room singles, two-room singles, and three-room singles. Because of the very high demand for residence halls, on-campus housing is assigned through a lottery.
