Academic Ability
We seek students who are confident in their ability to master the required material and excel in the classroom. Academic potential is assessed primarily by:

Quality of educational programs and performance in programs

Transcripts from all educational institutions attended

General aptitude as measured by the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

Work Experience
Most applicants have between one and ten years of work experience and come from a variety of professional backgrounds.

Although academic work and internships do not count toward professional work experience, Stern reviews all work experience as part of the admission decision. Note that Work experience is not required to apply.

Personal and Professional Characteristics
We seek students with proven leadership ability, maturity, character and strong communication skills, who will be active participants at Stern and have a great passion for, pride in and commitment to Stern.

International Study Abroad
Stern offers students a chance to study abroad in a leading overseas graduate business school. Participants study alongside the future business leaders of the host country and, in the process, develop an understanding of another business and cultural environment.

Short-Term Global Programs
For those interested in shorter overseas stays, Stern offers global business courses that range from one to six weeks. Recent schools that have hosted classes are the Otto Beishem Graduate School of Management at WHU Koblenz in Germany, the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark and the Universidad Tocurato Di Tella in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Short Term Study Programs are taught entirely in English.

Doing Business In...
NYU Stern's MBA International Programs is introducing new two-week, three-credit intensive courses abroad scheduled in January and May, called "Doing Business in..." (DBI). These courses are designed for full-time and part-time MBA students who desire to study abroad for less time than Stern's full semester exchange.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Tuition & Fees for 2007-8 are $18,559 based on a nine-month academic year, taking 6 credits in the fall and 6 in the spring.
Tuition per credit: $1,440.
