Description of LLM in International Finance & Banking Law

This fully online LLM in International Finance & Banking Law degree will equip you with the skills and knowledge to manage the demands of the global financial industry within a legal context. It provides a firm foundation in commercial law and the opportunity to pursue your interest in specific areas of corporate and regulatory legislation.

The virtual classroom used in this online programme is the ideal environment for both practising lawyers and finance professionals to discover and debate the nature and development of the legal context that guides the world financial industry. Reflecting the cross-border and cross-discipline reality of global markets and organisations, it brings together students from around the world in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Their legal and industry perspectives provide new opportunities for learning that a traditional classroom cannot match.

Core modules cover legal methodology, conflict of laws in business and commerce, aspects of banking law, international finance law, international taxation law, international economic law and international law and foreign investment. You can then personalise your Masters with an elective module chosen from law of business organisations, EU law and the single market, corporate governance and international money laundering regulation. You complete your degree with an original dissertation.

You will graduate with specialist legal expertise that is vital to organisations operating in highly competitive international financial markets. Your familiarity with the language and operational legal detail of international finance – securities, loans, bonds and derivatives – will complement your ability to think strategically and untangle highly complex legal requirements. How it works

All University of Liverpool online Masters programmes are taught 100% via the Internet, giving career professionals access to a level of higher education that may otherwise be out of reach because of work or family responsibilities.

This accessibility is made possible because there are no fixed lecture times, the classroom is always open and there is no need to synchronise study with anyone else. In completing their assignments, students can interact with instructors and classmates whenever and wherever suits them best.

All courses are delivered online one at a time, so students can get to grips with the subject and explore it in real depth. We carefully compose each individual study group from a student body representing a wide variety of experience, so that feedback from classmates is stimulating and inspiring, bringing both specialist knowledge and fresh perspectives.
