Full-time MBA

The HKUST MBA seeks to bring together a diverse group of participants with a variety of abilities, experiences and academic backgrounds. Applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:

• strong bachelor degree; and
• satisfactory GMAT score; and
• minimum two years of full-time work experience after first degree; and
• a good TOEFL or IELTS result if English was not the language of instruction at undergraduate level

We invite applications from October onwards for our annual intake which starts in the following August. For Full-time MBA 2010, we target at an intake size of 120 students which will be split into two class sessions.

The HKUST MBA curriculum is designed to develop your ability to manage your career successfully in a global economy, and operate business effectively in the China-based context. There are two main components: required cores (~60%) and electives (~40%).

Electives
The electives comprise over 40% of the HKUST MBA curriculum, helping you achieve your discretionary career objectives.

Our electives are provided along the following five career tracks that let you delve more deeply into the subjects that matter most to you:

• General management in China
• Finance
• Consulting
• Entrepreneurship and family business
• Marketing

Course delivery methods range from lectures, discussions, seminars and case analysis to simulation, individual and group projects and presentations. Our courses maximize the use of case-based interactive learning and use cases within the Asia and Greater China context when applicable.

Assessment may include class participation, individual assignments, group projects and presentations, quizzes and exams, depending on the nature of the course. Faculty members select the appropriate mix of delivery and assessment for the best teaching results.

The program fee for the Full-time MBA program intake 2009 is HK$380,000. Fee for 2010 admissions is currently under review and will be announced shortly.

The program fee covers tuition, MBA Residential Program, textbooks for required cores, course materials, and some enrichment activities
