The Walton College is pleased to present in the following pages the newly re-designed full-time MBA program. The new program is the result of a two year process that critically examined every aspect of the program from the point of view of corporate recruiters, alumni, and faculty. What emerged is an MBA program that is industry specific, market driven, and leverages the unique strengths of the Walton College. Every aspect of the program, from the core classes to the professional development seminars and extracurricular experiences was thoughtfully designed to maximize the MBA experience.
The new MBA program consists of five components: 28 hours of core courses, 9-12 hours of career track electives, 3 hours of internship or study abroad, and 5 hours of professional development courses. By focusing on consumer products and retailing, the various core and elective disciplines are integrated around a central theme, giving students depth as well as breadth. A new cohort is admitted each summer with the first fall semester devoted to on-line pre-MBA prep courses. This allows students to gain an additional four to five months of work experience and reduces both opportunity costs (lost income) and out-of-pocket costs. Students arrive on campus in January for the 16 month program
