Description of Boston International MBA

Accelerated MBA, Global Edge: Beijing | Shanghai | Boston

Do you understand the advantages and limitations of international deal-making? Do you embrace global thinking? Are you open to widely different methods of collaboration?

  • Start with a summer in Beijing and Shanghai, China. Combine intensive classwork, multicultural teamwork, and visits to Beijing's and Shanghai's great corporations and cultural landmarks.
  • Complete the MBA in Boston, USA. Starting in the fall, complete your MBA at Boston University School of Management.
  • Earn your MBA 40% faster. Complete your MBA in only 12 months, matriculating in May and finishing as early as May of the following year.

Multicultural Team Experience

The International MBA immerses you in a multicultural learning community. At the program's start in Beijing you're assigned to a team of fellow students. You and your teammates collaborate on class projects, exchange ideas, and challenge each other with diverse ways of thinking, doing, and leading.

Teamwork extends beyond course work; you live with your classmates and down the hall from School of Management faculty and staff.

When you return to Boston, you engage in further collaborative work, through BU's unique Team Learning approach.

The International MBA Program

This program begins with intensive coursework in Beijing and Shanghai, China, from early May until late July. Students then return to Boston to complete the remaining MBA coursework, possibly including an international field seminar.

Students have the option of accelerating their program to 12 months (May to May) as shown by taking an additional course during the spring semester. They may also spread the credits out (to 14 or 18 months) for a multitude of reasons, including taking additional electives or completing a summer internship.
